MyToday is an India-centric mobile internet portal. Our vision with MyToday is to bring the richness of the Internet to mobiles for users in emerging markets for whom the mobile is likely to be the primary ( and for many, the only) - device to access the Internet. Over time, we will also make available publishing tools to build out the mobile Internet.
One of the key ideas for MyToday is content "publish-subscribe". Publishing enables the creation of new, incremental content. Subscriptions enables setting up relationships with such content. At the same time, we will make available a wide variety of information that already exists - through of mix of creation, collection, and simplifying existing Internet content. This will provide a more complete experience for mobile users.
We believe that the Internet and mobile will play a complementary role - the small screens of the mobile offset by the portability of the mobile phone. India can be the role model for other emerging markets in creating a digital infrastructure which brings information access to hundreds of millions.
