Netas give hard time to Harley Davidson

The Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Heavy Industries have landed in dispute over allowing cult motorcycle brand Harley Davidson's launch in India.
Earlier import of 500cc + vehicles was discouraged. Since march this year, The Directorate General of Foreign Trade has made amendments in its export-import policy to make way for bikes with engine capacities in excess of 500 cc, but it remains to be seen if the Heavy Industries Ministry gives its nod to the DGFT proposal.

The DGFT has sought a clarification on what were the grounds that the bike maker was not being allowed entry into India despite having being cleared on grounds of Euro iii emission norms followed in the european countries.

The estimated price on indian roads is 600k.

The actual price is less than half of this price.
