Maruti Suzuki Splash to replace Wagon R in 2008

Hyundai has recently scored a 10/10 from its i10. Just what Hyundai needed to boost up its market share after the falling sales figures of its good old Santro. Same is the case with Maruti, which is now facing stiff competition from Chev Spark, Getz prime, Indica, Santro, the i10.

To maintain its stronghold in the market Maruti- Suzuki is expected to replace Wagon R with the all new (Maruti) Suzuki Splash in 2008. The Suzuki Splash is a new MPV(Multi Purpose Vehicle) which was jointly developed with Opel. The production model of Splash of the European markets is currently built in Esztergom, Hungary, by Magyar Suzuki Corporation, a Suzuki subsidiary that already builds Swift, SX4 and Ignis.

The Splash will be showcased (Launched ?) at the Auto Expo in January 2008 in Delhi.

The pricing has to be very competitive if it has to complete with the i10 and replace wagon R.

It would be priced around 4 to 4.5 lakhs is my guess.
